Office Manager or School Business Manager

Office Manager - Grade 8 £23,866 pa before pro rata/School Business Manager - Grade 10 £29,909 pa before pro rata

30- 35 hours a week, term time only plus two weeks – 40 weeks a year

To start as soon as possible

We have a vacancy for an experienced Office Manager or School Business Manager.

As the school's leading support staff member, you will work with the Senior Leadership Team to ensure the effective and efficient fulfillment of our educational aims, making the best use of resources to support our learning objectives.

If you have experience of working in a school or academy, or in a similar setting, and are an effective and experienced manager, we would encourage you to apply for this post.

Duties will include:

  • Line management of the school office and other non-academic support staff
  • Budget management, providing advice and guidance on financial matters to the Principal and Academy Committee
  • Organisation tasks, and support to the Principal and Academy Committee, on all areas of school  management
  • Implementation of Health and Safety throughout the school in conjunction with the Principal
  • Administration of the school’s personnel functions, in conjunction with our payroll providers and HR advisors
  • Premises management - both ongoing maintenance and management of building projects
  • Producing reports, analysing and responding to complex correspondence
  • Administrative and clerical support as required
  • Provision of first aid (training will be provided)

This post is offered at Grade 10 for more experienced School Business Managers, or as Office Manager at Grade 8 for applicants who may require further personal development and experience.  The Job Descriptions and Person Specifications below give an indication of the level of experience and skills required at each Grade. Term Time Only – 38 weeks a year, 12 hours per week, 8.30 – 11.30 am Tuesday-Friday

Grade 6  Scale point 18 -21

Salary £5097 per annum after pro rata

 

We are looking for someone to join the team in our busy school office.

The person appointed will:

  • have good personal and organisational skills and an ability to communicate effectively and professionally with staff, parents and pupils
  • have excellent ICT skills, including knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel, ideally gained in an office environment. Training in the use of our school information management system will be given
  • produce accurate work of a high standard
  • be able to work independently at times
  • be flexible and able to cope with the changing demands of the school day
  • understand the importance of maintaining confidentiality and discretion at all times
