Welcome back to school for another fun and busy term! Our new topic is Celebrations, and we are so excited to get ready for the Christmas season. We’ll be learning about lots of different ways people celebrate around the world and practising for our very own Christmas play. Everyone will have an important part, and we can’t wait to see your hard work and fantastic performances. It’s going to be a very special time full of fun and festive cheer!
PE
This term, our PE day will be Wednesday. Please make sure your child comes to school wearing their PE kit on this day. PE days may change again after the holidays.
Homework
Homework will be sent home every Friday and should be returned by the following Wednesday. Thank you for your continued support with this.
Reading
Your child now has both a physical reading book and an online book. Please try to read with them daily (either their RWI book or a home book) and write a short comment in their reading record.
We ask that your child brings their reading book and record to school every day. Please sign the reading diary to show you've read with your child.
Your child will also bring home a class library book to share and enjoy with you. Reading books will be changed each week.
Maths
Please encourage your child to use Numbots each week. This is a fantastic tool that helps build their number skills and confidence in maths.
Spelling
Please ensure your child completes their weekly spelling homework on Ed Shed.
The online homework is designed to be ‘little and often’ activities that help children regularly practise and strengthen these key skills until they become second nature.
