Building Resilience

Our aim is to build strong, independent learners and part of this is building confidence and resilience in our pupils.  We do this through our curriculum and a range of activities.  Our ELSA trained assistant is running 'resilient me' training in our KS2 classes.

There are things parents and carers can do at home to build resilience.  Here is an article that gives some practical and simple ideas for families to try.

Six Ways to Build a Resilient Child

We have an ELSA - Emotional Literacy Support Assistant with a basic psychological understanding of the principle needs underpinning healthy emotional development in children to enable them to think beyond the presenting behaviours to the needs those behaviours may be expressing.  Our ELSA assistant is Mrs Adams.

We have a Home School Link Worker who supports families and is a link person for our school.  Her role is to link families to external agencies and charities for specific support - for example around supporting your child with developing good sleep or eating habits.  Our Home School Link Worker is Miss White.
