SEND Teaching Assistant

Grade 6

Salary £12,743 after pro-rata

30 hours a week, term time only – 38 weeks a year

8.30 am – 3.00 pm Monday – Friday

We are looking to appoint a SEND Teaching Assistant to join our dedicated staff team. We are looking for someone who brings experience to help us to ensure that our pupils receive the best education through our broad and challenging curriculum. This post will include working one to one with individual children and working with groups of pupils and will also include working with the SENCo to support the development of staff, particularly around working with pupils with Autism and ADHD.  

The successful candidate will:

  • have high expectations of the children they work with
  • be willing to work as part of our team and to support our Catholic ethos
  • be able to liaise closely with class teachers to assist them to deliver exciting and stimulating activities for our children
  • have excellent interpersonal skills
  • be imaginative, creative and resourceful
  • have a calm, professional manner at all times

Hours of work include 30 minutes for lunch (unpaid) and 30 minutes lunchtime supervision Monday – Friday.

Home School Link Worker

Grade 8

Salary £1880 actual salary after pro rata

3.5 hours a week, term time only – 38 weeks a year

To start as soon as possible

 This is an exciting opportunity to work with families, children and the school to provide early intervention, signposting, support and guidance.

As a Home School Link Worker you will advise and support parents ensuring their children attend school regularly and gain maximum benefits from education. You will also develop and provide knowledge of family services available in the local community and signpost to available support.

We would like a person to join our team who:

  • is an excellent communicator and able to develop a good rapport and working relations with both children, parents and a wide range of adults
  • has a commitment to transforming the lives of young people and their families to overcome the social, cultural and economic barriers to learning
  • is able to work both independently and as part of a team
  • has safeguarding experience
  • is self-motivated, enthusiastic, creative and adaptable
  • can remain calm in difficult circumstances
  • can problem solve, use your initiative and work autonomously
  • has a driving licence and access to a vehicle
  • is able to work their hours flexibly, attending meetings outside of core hours as necessary
